Sign Language

Today we learned how to sign, sign language is very helpful especially
for deaf people its their way of communicating with out talking.Sign language was banned
in New Zealand in the 50's and the 60's but in 2006 it was made an official language.
But you have to be aware that in different countries the sign language is different some only use
one hand and sometimes they have their own grammar.

Why Does Your Nose Run?

Why Does Your Nose Run?
When your nose runs its really annoying but it isn't that bad it’s actually really useful.
Firstly you need to know what mucus is mucus is that slimy gross liquid in your nose. But it isn't that bad it actually protects you,it blocks the dust and pollen and other harmful things from going into your lungs. And when your sick your nose needs to work harder because it's trying to not make your condition even worse. That causes too much mucus making the mucus drip out of your nose gross!,

You might be wondering why is this happening to people with allergies its simple.
Your nose acts differently when you have allergies your nose thinks its dust or pollen causing your mucus to drip out of you nose.Eventually you need to get rid of all the bad things and that's when you sneeze it all out into a tissue.

But the only cure is blowing it all out into a tissue. Some doctors request medicine but you shouldn't accept the request it's just a waste of money. You just need to get a box of tissues and your set.

Why Does Popcorn Pop?

🍿Why Does Popcorn Pop?🍿
Has this thought ever come to you while microwaving your popcorn Why does popcorn pop? . So i’ll POP the question for you it's way more simple than you think . First i'll tell you where it all started the first sighting of popcorn was in new mexico, the kernels were found in a bat cave but we still don't know why it was there.

The popcorn kernels found there was at least 4000 or 5000 years old! the native americans used popcorn kernels for decorations and clothing design. The native americans have this myth about a tiny devil inside a popcorn kernel and when you heat up the kernel the tiny devil gets so mad it explodes.Time to get into the science of how popcorn kernels pop it's really simple. Imagine a test tube filled with water with a balloon on top of the tube.boiling the water causes steam the steam makes pressure the steam goes into the balloon, too much pressure builds up making the balloon pop.

Same with popcorn kernels you might be wondering how does a popcorn kernel have water?.The kernel actually contains water in the ‘’germ’’ the germ is the only living part in the kernel.Only 14% of water is in the kernel but that makes enough steam to make the popcorn kernel pop. Its that easy it isn't magic at all it's just simple
science.

Tall Stories Team Project

  • Me, Mary, Ashton and Emma Louise were working together for this project, our goal was to make a tall building with its own support. Our materials were newspaper and paper clips and we had a bonus 5 pieces of tape. We had 10 minutes to make it and we had another bonus of 5 more minutes. We started to make the base by rolling up 3 pieces of newspaper and attaching them together with two paper clips. After that Mary rolled one more piece of paper and attached it to the base with a paper clip sadly it just flopped around and it didn't look so stable and the whole thing just collapsed.  We needed to fix it as soon as possible as the time was ticking. We paper clipped the base to a piece of newspaper that made the base more stable but the long piece was still floppy. We had no choice but to fold the long piece and that surprisingly worked but not for long it just flopped down again and we used the tape to secure the base. It still didn't work so we used our team bands and tied the base and long piece together finally it worked and we succeeded.

You have to look after your electricity and environment as you can see im doing pretty good with my environment but when it comes Electricity im fine.I built lots of farms and wind  turbines but the wind turbines wont support the town for long. I can see lots of things i can improve in including how to manage electricity.
