Why Does Popcorn Pop?

🍿Why Does Popcorn Pop?🍿
Has this thought ever come to you while microwaving your popcorn Why does popcorn pop? . So i’ll POP the question for you it's way more simple than you think . First i'll tell you where it all started the first sighting of popcorn was in new mexico, the kernels were found in a bat cave but we still don't know why it was there.

The popcorn kernels found there was at least 4000 or 5000 years old! the native americans used popcorn kernels for decorations and clothing design. The native americans have this myth about a tiny devil inside a popcorn kernel and when you heat up the kernel the tiny devil gets so mad it explodes.Time to get into the science of how popcorn kernels pop it's really simple. Imagine a test tube filled with water with a balloon on top of the tube.boiling the water causes steam the steam makes pressure the steam goes into the balloon, too much pressure builds up making the balloon pop.

Same with popcorn kernels you might be wondering how does a popcorn kernel have water?.The kernel actually contains water in the ‘’germ’’ the germ is the only living part in the kernel.Only 14% of water is in the kernel but that makes enough steam to make the popcorn kernel pop. Its that easy it isn't magic at all it's just simple
science.
